Trade Networks and Systemic Risk

Interconnected trade systems transmit shocks well beyond their point of origin. My work uses network models to measure exposure, vulnerability, and indirect effects that are difficult to observe from bilateral relations alone.

These studies have examined vulnerability to food-trade shocks and the unintended consequences of export restrictions on medical goods during the COVID-19 pandemic. This focused page is part of the broader Structure, Robustness and Intervention research thread.
